Meehan is smart and knows the stuff but doesn't do a great job explaining it.

She Drops a test...Good
She rarely posts hw solutions...BAD
Recitation is a joke and you have to go to take a quiz that is not graded....BAD
Her tests are always twists of problems she goes over in class...Good

Overall you have to work pretty hard in this class because 3 tests are 75% of your grade.

Meehan is a very nice teacher and her class is not extremly difficult. She had a very unique and interesting intoduction at the begining of the year where she physically passed around different components we would be studying the rest of the year.

The homework and recitation quizzes were essentially not graded. I could never gave much effort to the homework and always got 95% on them. The recitation quizzes were just attendance.

The tests were not too bad in my opinion. Make sure your circuit analysis skills are up to par and you should be good. She also drops your lowest test grade and gives you the option of not taking the final, regardless of the grade you have before it.

Meehan is a nice person and very helpful when you need it. She gives extra credit opportunities and drops a test grade.
Despite all that she doesn't really help to make a difficult course very easy. The HW's are hard to stumble through and especially because she does not teach like the book was written and the HW's are out of the book. The tests were also pretty difficult, choke on one of the problems and the rest of the test seems to domino effect. Her teaching style is hard to follow, she tends to ramble a little but does a lot of examples. But she doesn't teach the method all that well so you are not prepared when you come to a problem with a twist.

Meehan is a nice professor and doesn’t make the class worse than it should be. The homework is very reasonable. The class and she can be somewhat disorganized, but she will gladly clarify things if you ask. The Exams are also fair if you understand the homework and material. The help sessions will also help prepare you for the Exams. Make sure you know circuits well (ECE 2004) before taking this class. Things like KVL and KCL will come back.

This is one of the few classes that I don’t have to kill myself to do well in. She is kind and willing to work with you. She also does one of the coolest things ever: if you are happy with your grade before the final, you don’t have to take the final. My friend had this class last year with a different professor, and he says that Meehan makes this class much more reasonable and manageable.

She could probably be the best teacher in ECE (but I know a couple of other good ones too i.e. Thweat). She is nice and respectful towards her students. She REALLY explains the material well. One thing to note, that her tests are hard (i.e. you can't b.s. your way through an A) but if you pay attention to her and thoroughly understand the Diode/BJT/FET ideas, then you can easily ace her class. She's nice that she'll also exempt you from final if you wanna keep your existing (pre-final) grade. How many ECE profs let you do that?

I must say Meehan was by far the worst teacher I have ever had. She never really taught the material following from the book. The labs for this class hardly ever followed the lectures. I am really interested in these "helpful TA´s" that some speak of, because when I took this class they were nowhere to be found. Yes, there were TA´s, but they weren´t very helpful and acted like you were a complete idiot most of the time.

The main thing that turned me against Meehan is that she NEVER h give the solution for the test or even the assignment.

As for the guy who gave her 5, I think we should use our GPA´s as a multiplier for our review, since I have a 3.8

Finally, after several request, Dr. Meehan is up in here and I can express how I feel about her.
For me, Dr. Meehan was a real encouragement. Even though I earned a B in her class, her way of introducing transistors and other electronic stuff, really made me interested in my major.
She is a great person who has a lot of passion for her students and does everything to make sure you learn the stuff. She would have problem solving from 7-9 p.m.! two days a week for the last half of the course and that really helped a lot.
If you want to learn, and learn it good, take Dr. Meehan. She is worth her tough tests and hard homeworks.
Also she'll be a good source for your future in terms of recommendation letter and stuff...
