Linear Algebra was a joke. This course served more as a useless consumption of time than anything else. The material wasn't too difficult until the very last section, which conveniently was the only section without a detailed video lecture on how to attack the problems. Watch the video lectures and follow along with the lecture notes as she speaks. It may be boring, but it's worth the easy A.

great teacher, had her in fall 09 shes one of the few math teachers i know that actually has lectures on the empo website. very easy course but the challenge is the math emporium and the urge NOT to do everything last minute. try to be that miraculous student who finishes the course in the first month, or just try to stay ahead, cause it will be one less final to worry about during finals.

Class is easy it is just hard to force yourself to watch the lectures and go to the empo and take the quizzes. Most of the time I took them last minute and did ok. She doesnt have videos for the last two quizzes which is gay but if you do well on everything else its easy. I think I got like a B+ or A- in the class but i took almost everything last minute. Not a class you have to worry about.

Never really saw the teacher because it was a Math Emporium class. This class is so ridiculously easy that you don't even really need a teacher until the last two lessons. A bad review for Ms. England because she is missing two lecture videos for the last two quizzes, might I say the hardest two quizzes in the whole course. I don't know if she is not smart enough to be able to videotape a lecture in those two sections because from the slides, the questions were hard to understand. Don't email her either, because it will take her around two weeks to a month to respond. Basically, get good grades in the first part of the semester because the end of this class is the hard point.

Ms England was a wonderful teacher for linear algebra. You don´t have to see her at all after the beginning orientation, but she is really helpful if you´re having problems understanding the material. She also understands that not everyone is a math major and wants to do problems the long, proof heavy method. She is more than willing to teach shortcuts and alternative methods to save time. I would definitely recommend going to her first in her Empo office hours before asking one of the random helpers.
By the way, I noticed a lot of people are talking about the book and I definitely agree that it is not worth buying at all. All the lesson plans online are exactly the same as the text in the bookstore, except there are no answers to the problems in the book as opposed to the solutions online.

This class was at the Empo so I never even saw Mrs. England. The class wasn't too bad, I usually did all my work on Wednesdays before the Saturday deadline. As long as you do the lessons and lesson problems you should be fine.

1114 is a very easy class but at the same time, a pain. But fortunately, basically all that is required of you is that you go to the math emporium every saturday (or at least, that's when I went) and spend a few hours studying the material and then taking the quiz/test. Initially, this won't be that easy, but the quizzes aren't worth to much of your grade anyway, so don't sweat it. After a while, you will steadily get better at banging out the work at the empo on saturdays and after a while, I could study and take the quiz and be done with it in 20 minutes. Just make sure you do well on the tests and PAY ATTENTION TO THE TEST DEADLINES. I missed one because I'm an idiot, and fortunately the final grade replaces your lowest test grade, so I was saved. Overall, an easy course.

It is hard to grade a teacher that you don not see. Emporium classes just suck. Plain as that. I used the lecture videos to pass this class. A warning to you though. DO NOT BUY THE "BOOK" that corresponds to this class. It is a waste of money. I never touched it. Everything is Online. If you have a question, try to email England and she usually gets back to you. Again, the math emporium classes suck, just bite the bullet and get through it.

She organized the slides well...
Her supplementary lectures were my life-support through this course and I pulled away with a decent grade.
She is probably the instructor you are going to get if you take linear algebra.
But if you have a choice, she isn't a bad one.

This class was at the Math Emporium and wasn't that hard. If you have trouble learning math on your own, then this course may be a problem. Dr. England has lecture videos online to watch but you still need to practice the material a lot with the practice quizzes. The only good thing about this course is that you can do it when you want. There are deadlines for each quiz/test, but you can complete them when you want.
